Oral and Poster Presentation Awards Announced from 2025 Student Research Symposium
Recently, KU’s Institute for Information Sciences’ (I2S) Student Organization (ISO) held their annual Student Research Symposium, Jan. 23-24, at the Kansas Memorial Union. The two-day event featured more than dozen oral presentations on a wide range of research topics, including machine learning, high-performance computing, and AI and machine learning. I2S congratulates the winners of the oral and poster presentations.

KU’s Institute for Information Sciences Brings Record Cohort to Federal Scholarship Program
Students and faculty from KU’s Institute for Information Sciences (I2S) participated in the Federal CyberCorps Scholarship for Services (SFS) job fair in Washington, D.C., Jan. 7-9, 2025. The SFS program is designed to increase and strengthen the cadre of federal information assurance professionals that protect the government’s critical information infrastructure.

Institute for Information Sciences Faculty and Students Represent KU at Annual Computer Security Conference
The Annual Computer Security Applications Conference (ACSAC) brings together leading researchers and practitioners, along with a diverse group of security professionals drawn from academia, industry, and government, gathered to present and discuss the latest cybersecurity results and topics. Remarkably, four papers from KU were accepted and presented at ACSAC 2024. Only Virginia Tech had more papers accepted, which had five.
