A group of scholars will convene at the University of Kansas from July 19 to 21 to discuss the state of civility in contemporary politics. KU faculty are among the speakers at the free, in-person conference, which organizers hope will establish an international network of scholars working in this field.

Faculty leadership at KU’s Center for Cyber-Social Dynamics (CCSD) will welcome a guest speaker from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in June. Dr. Nancy Abigail Nunez will present her research on the prospect of automating mathematical discovery: Challenges in the use of AI in mathematical proofs. The presentation will take place in the executive conference room (Rm. 246) on Friday, June 13, at Nichols Hall on KU’s West District.

Doctoral students in philosophy, Oluwaseun Sanwoolu and Oluwakorede Ajibona, recently attended an academic workshop that focused on the crossroads of philosophy, technology and society at the University of Ibadan (UI) in Nigeria. The workshop, held on May 28 for the first time, was coordinated in partnership with KU’s Center for Cyber-Social Dynamics (CCSD).
