University of Kansas doctoral candidate Kyrian Chinemeze Adimora and his advisor, Hongyang Sun, assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) and faculty member of the Institute for Information Sciences (I2S), have been recognized with the 2025 Best Paper Award Runner-Up by IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems (TPDS).
Zijun Yao, assistant professor of electrical engineering & computer science at the University of Kansas, earned a National Science Foundation CAREER award for a project that tackles a major hurdle in healthcare technology: teaching AI to understand a patient’s full medical history without losing sight of human clinical judgment.
