Google to kick off weeklong KU event on AI in education and research
On Sept. 29, Google will host “Falling into AI,” a weeklong event that invites the Jayhawk community to engage with researchers and industry leaders across the university working with artificial intelligence.

Researchers will develop spectrum technologies for safer, more reliable communication for drones and air taxis
With a $760,000 research grant from the National Science Foundation, investigators at the University of Kansas will develop “intelligent spectrum management frameworks” to enable reliable communication for drones as they become more ubiquitous.

KU designated National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Research
Researchers and faculty members at the University of Kansas’ Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science recently received redesignation as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Research (CAE-R) by the National Security Agency.

Nine KU Students Represent University at New York “Hackathon” in August
A group of KU students travelled to New York Aug. 13-18 to participate in the ETHGlobal Hackathon. ETHGlobal is a national industry hackathon that allows students and members of industry to experiment with cutting edge web3 technologies, an umbrella term for technologies, like blockchain, that decentralize data ownership and control on the internet. Most internet applications are controlled by centralized entities that determine how they save and use end-user data.
