I2S ISO Student Organization Showcase connects students across the EECS Landscape
The Institute for Information Sciences’ Student Organization (I2S ISO) hosted a showcase on Wednesday, April 15, that featured select graduate research presentations, tours of the I2S supercomputing facility, and undergraduate student organization poster presentations. In addition to ISO, student organizations that participated included the KU Supercomputing Club, KU Artificial Intelligence Organization, and the KU Blockchain Institute.
“The overall mission of the showcase is to invite undergraduate students to Nichols Hall to share the infrastructure we have at I2S,” said Amin Mamandipoor, current ISO president and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) graduate student. “The idea is to make them aware of our resources and encourage them to use them in their projects.”
Another goal is to give graduate students a chance to share their research and let undergraduate clubs present their work. "At the end of the day, we want this event to help connect students across the EECS landscape," said Kyrian Adimora, EECS graduate student and Educational Activities Chair for IEEE Kansas City Section (Region 5), who developed the showcase concept and co-organized the event with ISO.
The event was supported by I2S staff.
