JMC professor named associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Games, advancing human-centered tech research
Yunwen Wang, Assistant Professor of Journalism and Mass Communications and affiliate faculty of the Mathematical Methods and Interdisciplinary Computing Center (MMICC) at KU's Institute for Information Sciences (I2S), was recently invited to serve as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Games.
Specializing in social and mobile health technology and computational social science, Wang will manage submissions focusing on human-computer interaction (HCI), user experience (UX), and games for health. As the world’s largest technical professional organization, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) states its mission as "advancing technology for humanity." Wang’s new role for the journal reinforces IEEE’s integration of social science and humanistic perspectives into technology studies.
MMICC brings together a wide range of research for the purpose of creating new technologies and solving problems. The mission of I2S is to sustain and grow national leadership in the creation, dissemination, and commercialization of new technologies in computer systems, communication systems, and radar systems.
