Biography

Dr. Rachel Jarvis is a split Assistant Professor / Assistant Scientist with the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) department and the Institute for Information Sciences (I2S) at the University of Kansas. She began working at the university in the summer of 2024. She received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and the M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of Oklahoma in 2020, 2021, and 2024, respectively.

Dr. Jarvis researches under I2S at the Radar Systems and Remote Sensing Laboratory (RSL) where she focus on applied electromagnetics and radar system design, including biomedical imaging radar and clutter suppression for measurements in challenging environments. Dr. Jarvis has several refereed journal publications and conference papers focusing on efficient and wideband radar cross section measurements, adaptive clutter suppression for enhanced dynamic range, and radar system design for wave propagation through inhomogeneous media.
