VICEROY Scholarships

The MVI encourages students to participate in experiential learning opportunities. It offers an incentive-based VICEROY Scholars program, which provides four scholarships to eligible students at KU, OSU, and PNW. Students are paid stipends after completing the required education and training tasks.

Who's eligible to apply?

  • Must be a student at KU, OSU, or PNW
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Must have a 3.0 or above GPA
  • Must be security clearance eligible (read the FAQs)

Scholarships

An eligible student can apply for one or multiple scholarships. However, recipients of the VICEROY Scholarship are ineligible for the Security Certification Scholarship, and vice versa.

  • VICEROY Scholarship - $1,500: The recipient needs to complete a 3-course sequence: 1 EMS security course + 2 certification preparation courses.
  • Security Certification Scholarship- $2,000:  The recipient needs to complete 4 certification preparation courses and take 1 professional certification exam.
  • Cybersecurity Research Scholarship- $5,000: The recipient needs to complete a 10-week summer research course and a summer research project.
  • Cyber Operations Scholarship - $500: The recipient needs to complete three cyber operations training tasks.
  • Language Scholarship - $500: The recipient needs to complete the summer foreign language proficiency course.

Prepare application materials

  1. An up-to-date curriculum vitae
  2. A personal statement
  3. One letter of recommendation (please request the letter to be sent to the point-of-contact of your university)
